The Fairy Diary Day 385 #TFDbyRWOz2

Meribabell writes:

Rumble and I questioned a half dozen goblin witnesses who had been in other parties out looking for the whereabouts of the dragon. Adding the locations of their prior sightings to Rumble’s map revealed that either one dragon was very active, or there were more than one.

I was of the opinion that one was the correct number. But that also meant that this goblin camp must be at the center of a honeycomb of passageways.

Dunfallon and Noralei had gone out with another party of dragon hunters, back down to whence we came – to check more thoroughly the passage discovered by our pixie.

They returned with a prisoner – a tall elf we recognized as our former ‘shipmate’ Hawk. When caught he had been carrying a saddle and bridle for a dragon.

I jotted a note to the High Fairy and summoned Merlin.

Meribabell writes:

Noralei made first contact with the goblins. As with the dwarves back at Artoxon’s capital, and Gnoston’s village, word of our coming had again preceded us. They were part of a force that was also scouting the cross passageways. They were doing so because of reported sightings of a dragon. These goblins had been dispatched to contact and warn us, as well as to seek out “the worm” as they called it.

Dunfallon directed them to the passage in which he had discovered the lair.

One of the goblins who was named Gibley volunteered for the honor of escorting us into the goblin outpost. It was set up just as we had suggested back when the conflict with the dark elves was raging.

Gibley introduced us to his commander whom we were anxious to interview.  But the actual witnesses he informed us were not then available.

We had to wait quite some time.

Day One Thousand Twenty Two #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

The joy at our successful return was dampened by the news that not everyone from the Purser’s contingent had made it.

They are not just missing as if they took a wrong turn somewhere and got lost. Or held up by some barrier like we had been. Witnesses from a group led by Mawuli actually saw a missile strike obliterate them in their tracks.

Mei and Meesa who have been reaching out to those traumatized by the tragedy, enlisted Elijah’s aid today to bring them the peace of the Spirit.

Reuben is hard at work evaluating our security in the light of this incident.

I am helping but concentrating on what it means to our ability to bring others in.
