Day Seven Hundred Twenty Seven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

We only assume that a day has passed us by, now that they are leaving us alone. We have each in turn been taken away from the others for interrogation which was in a place somewhere also away from the light of day.

I was first. I assumed that their search of our room had turned up nothing. They wanted to know who we were working for and how we were communicating with them. I told them I had no answers for them other than that we worked for and communicated only with the Spirit.

Their time with Tomas and the Captain was even shorter. But with Elijah they spent the better part of the day.

We sense their frustration.

Day Seven Hundred #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Our captors were more uneasy than us. They had rushed to the side of the stricken officer, and were relieved that he still breathed. They kept their weapons trained on us, but at a respectful distance.

The commander was at a loss as to what to do with us. Once he settled it in his mind that what had happened was defensive and we had no inclination to go on offense, he put us in a room with twelve guards.

This morning he dispatched us with our detail to appear before the Supreme Commander of the army.

It was a long hike through ring after ring of army units to its hierarchical center.

Our weary day ended in more waiting.

Day Three Hundred Five #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

It’s been a long and trying day. But I must say it was worse for those attempting to harm us.

It started early. Before we were awake. But the crashing sounds of the assault fixed that.

Still, by the time we opened our door to look, it had fallen silent again. It took several minutes before we could ascertain what had happened. The stairwells at both ends of our floor were clogged with dead bodies. All trampled.

From our room we called down to Stan to come and remove the bodies. For answer we received some bricks through the windows.

Little by little bodies were dragged from the building. And a new perimeter was set up.

Four days no more.

Enoch writes:

The woman took me to the administration building, and then down into the bowels of the structure.

I was put in a room with Elam, and left there. He appeared healthy, if a bit beat up. Together we assessed our situation.

She came back today to threaten us.

As she left, I reminded her thirteen days to go.
