Day Six Hundred Fifty Four #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

As the night came on, we saw the light from that campfire still in the same place. It occasioned a lively debate.

The Captain, backed by Tomas’ judgement, wanted to find a way around it. To that end Tomas volunteered to run in advance of us to reconnoiter.

Elijah and I, however, held a different opinion. We wanted to continue on and catch up to these people – all based upon the revelations that Elijah has received, and the confirmation that I’ve been convinced to accept.

What I had to say on this matter resonated with our friends, and they at last acquiesced.

At the end of this night’s trek, we estimate the camp to be only one  more night away.

We are on our way again. We had set out in the heat of the afternoon. At the insistence of Elijah.

Tomas has recovered. I will not say completely, but I will say he is very willing, and hardly requires any assistance. At those points when he does the Captain is first by his side to help.

I stayed close by Elijah and we conversed. He had many things to share with me, revelations that have come to him in dreams. Many things concerning me. My spirit quivered within me as he spoke. Some things I have known, but for others, and for one in particular, I will need to seek confirmation.

Perhaps during this night’s trek I will hear.

A sense of urgency, the result of yesterday’s revelations, has been the theme for today. We’ve each had to combat it in our own way. The key is not to rush headlong, but to wait and only move in the Spirit’s leading and in His peace.

I think we have each been concerned for the other and not at all turned inward on the self.

We know our destination, just not the timing.

The Captain would seize the moment and head off immediately, if we let him. But to his credit he will wait for confirmation.

For now we need to go about our day keeping things as normal as possible.

I joined Elijah out on one of the causeways.

Enough writes:

Have been leaning into the presence of the Spirit from last evening until now.

Now need to move about to flex my muscles and work out the stiffness. And reflect on the many revelations.

And to prepare for the inevitable assault.

Day One Hundred Sixteen #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

We returned to the east end last night (via special dispensation, it being after curfew).  In the morning Lyle and I had a long conference about what to do next in light of Kip’s revelations.

First and foremost, do we attempt to contact any of the other rulers?

Especially since Kip is the only one from their number with any sympathy towards us. He is the one who arranged our entry into the east end.

I argued that it would only make sense, if we distrusted what Kip has told us.

However, Lyle feels duty bound to contact the others.

I told him I want to learn what is going on. How things came about.

We need to be prepared.
