The Fairy Diary Day 322 #TFDbyRWOz2

Meribabell writes:

We have decided – together – to continue on the Low-way and to go to the aid of Nililitil’s forces. Staunch in the belief that Merlin and Gilgorgon will be able to stave off any number of the dark elves that can come against them, it seemed obvious that we needed to prevent them calling up any reinforcements.

I wrote out our intentions in a message to the High Fairy. And then we turned our focus to our immediate problem – what to do about the dark elves here.

I reasoned that even though they outnumbered us five to one, we should easily be able to bypass and leave them behind.

Rumble agreed with me. But…

Noralei proposed that we trap and kill them all. I was aghast… and at the same time – found the bloodlust intensifying within me too.

Dunfallon was all for trapping them, but I do not believe he was thinking of anything beyond that.

That is when I heard sniggering coming from the Will’o’the Wisp’s cage.

Day One Thousand One Hundred Twenty Five #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Stop and go all day, in effect slowing our progress greatly. Many units of reinforcements have crossed our line of march, forcing a halt. Sometimes for as long as an hour. The longer halts were occasioned by caravans of wounded returning from the front.

We then knew for certain that we were behind the lines of the army of the North. In one instance we were close enough to see the insignia on their vehicles.

The image of Moglen again haunted my thoughts in between times. When Elijah noticed my absence from the present, he called me back from my revery. I do believe that had I not responded immediately each time he would have rapped me with his staff.

Day One Thousand One Hundred Three #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Our guards called up reinforcements this morning and ordered our villa surrounded. This was in reaction to reports that world government loyalists had broken out of their holding camp and were roaming the vicinity.

Tomas was out, so I acted the liaison with our guards. While touring the perimeter I witnessed them turning away roving bands with extreme force. If they had been armed our guards may not have been able to repel them.

In the afternoon the Supreme Commander put in an appearance. He came to check on our well-being and to assure us that the problem had been dealt with – decisively.

After he had left, I sought Elijah to tell him that I thought I had seen Moglen.
