Day Nine Hundred Thirty Five #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Elam squeezed the three of us into the cab beside himself, and began the long tale of the pilgrimage across sea and land of the group led by Sy and himself. A story that continued this morning by the mere dint of the wealth of detail Elam wanted to share.

And we listened with great interest, plying him with our many questions.

There was one note of sadness – Sy, the former soldier from whom Elijah removed the mark, lost his aged parents on the ocean passage.

During the times of silence I marveled at the work of the Spirit in their lives. And Jezer, to my surprise, burst forth with outright praise.

Then came our turn to share our stories.

The visions continued. And were more and more upsetting. One by one the people who have been closest to us on our pilgrimage appeared to my mind’s eye, and then slipped from view into a roiling darkness. And my heart was wrung by a great sadness.

Then those images were blotted out by a blizzard of crimson snow. A phenomenon that proved real upon the opening of my eyes.

I ran towards Elijah then on watch, up on the rock outcropping. We met on the rock shelf as he was descending.

We took what shelter was afforded by the outcropping.

And there we conferred.

Elijah reported that it had only just started. And inquired if I had anything to share.

Day Seven Hundred Nineteen #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

I could not stop thinking about G and his people and the road ahead of them. And wondering if we forgot to relate to them anything that might make their pilgrimage less perilous.

Tomas, thankfully, had given him valuable information for dealing with the Supreme Commander should they run afoul of his massive army. And Elijah wonderfully encouraged him.

This train of thought halted when the Captain spotted movement ahead of us, and for all appearances coming directly for us.

After the briefest of discussions, we continued on our course.

At one point they halted for no other reason I can think of, except they saw us.

It was a caravan of merchants. We passed one another in absolute silence.

Day Six Hundred Twenty Five #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

A mass of clouds seemed to threaten rain this morning, but the hidden sun burnt its way through and melted them to nothing.

Elijah and Tomas in talking with our newly found Hamashiachites learned about another passage through the area ahead. A mountain track, actually, but one they have often traversed.

They were eager after Elijah’s urging to begin his prescribed pilgrimage, so we agreed to depart immediately.

Thus we have found ourselves this evening with an unparalleled view of the surrounding territory.

The army can be seen struggling through the narrow pass below us. Like a bloated snake caught in a rock crevice.

Elijah holds out hope that we shall emerge out in front of that million man army.

Day Five Hundred Fifty Five #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Elijah and I met with the Hamashiachites early. We had exciting news. Our queries had led us to a group that meets under the sign of the fish. They are eager to meet with and join our people in their pilgrimage.

We have much to prepare before tomorrow. And we will have to adopt the same strategy to get them ashore as we did to get them on the ship, sending them out by twos and threes.

And all by the end of tomorrow, for the Captain tells us our business will be complete here and we’ll no longer have a reason to remain.

He also learned the other ship needs our help. They do not bear the mark either.

Day Five Hundred Forty Seven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Elijah had lots to sort out today, all on account of dreams. The dreams of crew members (including the Raj twin G) and the dreams of our guests.

Those experienced by the crew showed them joining the pilgrimage on land. And those of our guests revealed their continuing with the ship. Elijah has met with each one to hear their story. The fact that the number of individuals from each group is the same – six – strongly inclines him to accede to their leading. He wants to be sure.

And as I feared P is upset by all the talk of his brother parting from him. He talks about casting his lot in with him too.

That Elijah refuses to accept.
