The Fairy Diary Day 401 #TFDbyRWOz2

Meribabell writes:

We have made good time along the Low-way to the stronghold. We should reach it on our next march. Our pace has been a good deal quicker since we have not had to skulk about as before when we were forced off onto the side passages.

There is now more traffic in both directions. Of particular note are those obvious shipments from the dwarf mines. The hatchling perks up when they pass by. I think she can smell the gold inside the wooden boxes. At this point it is easy to restrain her curiosity. Dunfallon has become quite handy misdirecting her.

I believe Gibley is somewhat jealous of our pixie’s way of gaining her obedience.

The Fairy Diary Day 35 #TFDbyRWOz2

Meribabell writes:

I have finally heard from the High Fairy. After so many days of taking the scroll out to check, there was a fresh message at the bottom. He knows where we are (no surprise). And he has ordered (not suggested) that we stay put for now.

That was the whole extent of his communication. My two companions are perfectly satisfied to do so. But not me.

I wrote back and begged him to release us to continue on our way. I argued simply that we must not let the trail grow cold.

That was this morning.

Now in the late evening, there has been no reply.

So, I will be obedient and remain here.

The Narrator’s Tale #TFDbyRWOz2 D minus 10

A promise is a promise.

The voice reminds me.

So, here goes.

The strangest volume has come into my possession. It is tiny and fits easily in the palm of my hand. Yet it is so thick I cannot close my fingers around the whole of it.

It took me the longest while to figure out how to open it to look within. A lock of sorts sits on the cover and laughs at my attempts to free its contents.

Only by a revelation from a dream did I finally release the pages within.

But I must stop now, in obedience.

And proceed cautiously.

Day One Thousand Ninety One #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

The meeting had been brief, a mere formality with the Supreme Commander. He acknowledged his debt to us and was glad to return the favor, and left us with Tomas. The press of necessity pulled him away.

Tomas dismissed the guard and moved us into more comfortable quarters.

We had a lot to share, making it another late night. The full scope of which did not completely come into focus until today.

Tomas too has performed important service for the Supreme Commander. The result of his obedience to the call of the Spirit.

He has hope for the man’s future. But as always the choice remains with him.

Then the Captain took his turn, no doubt discussing their old ship.

Day Two Hundred Fifty Eight #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Elijah has prepared our host for our departure. He assures him that we will in no way call attention to this place of safety.

He promises that where we go when we go, the focus will be solely upon us. Elijah hopes that by our example, they will mature and imitate our obedience. For certainly, all who follow must heed and obey. It helps when we realize the unique part we have in His plan.

That truth is constantly on my mind. I so do not want to miss what I should be about. Nor fail in the attempt.

The trial is rushing towards us, and reluctant though I am, I discover within me the desire to rush towards it.
