First Tuesday Poem – Deceit

How deep the deceit
And complete the defeat
When our lips disguise.
(We cease to be wise)

Day One Thousand One Hundred Forty Eight #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

I was shocked to hear all that Elijah’s disciples have been through. They have borne the brunt of the enemy’s fury in the region. Steadfast and uncomplaining. And they have kept the hiding place safe. No word of its location has escaped their lips.

Elijah was deeply affected. He went around the circle and hugged each one and prayed over them.

We agreed with their advice that it would be good to set out in the dark immediately, and we concurred to do our traveling at night going forward.

We maintained a strict silence enroute to where they passed last night. And held up there through the day.

Lots of martial activity-in the air, and down in the valley.

Day Five Hundred Thirteen #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Upon rising this morning a melody filled my heart and soon a song of praise to the One was on my lips. It was a brand new song, one I had never heard before.

Elijah was greatly cheered by it. He said it portended awesome things for the day ahead. We both took eagerly to the road again.

Our mood changed when we passed a temple built beside the way just outside the third village. Slaughtered bodies lay all around its premises. Like the others we’d seen, it had been plundered, emptied out of valuables. Unlike the others, the attendees had resisted. And paid for resisting.

And likely as a consequence when we entered the third village it was deserted.
