Day One Thousand Two Hundred Thirty Seven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Besides Reuben and Sy, all the leaders asked to accompany us to Jerusalem – Elam, the Raj twins, Quasimo and his cousin, Jordan, Jezer, Meesa, Lung, Mr. Kagi, the Purser and Mary, and Mawuli.

Only Mei did not.

I took her aside and surprised her with a request. I knew that I had to lay down my writing chores and asked her to assume those responsibilities.

At first she demurred, proclaiming inadequacy. At that point Elijah stepped in and placed his hand upon her head.

As he spoke over her I saw the strength of the Spirit descend.

Then we told her she would accompany us.

And after bidding our friends farewell, the Spirit bore the three of us to Jerusalem.

Day One Thousand One Hundred Eighty Five #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Much rejoicing today as Tomas and Sy have returned – accompanied by an overjoyed Captain and Jezer (their expedition put on hold again after encountering them).

It took a while to assemble all the leaders, a particularly trying situation for Tomas as he was bursting to tell us everything.

Mei was the last one located and came running when she received word.

I noticed that Sy was quiet and brooding the whole time we were waiting, and became more so when Tomas began to speak.

They had not located Mawuli. But they have suspicions.  A vehicle carrying Moglen was seen moving from camp to camp behind the lines.

And as suspected the altar has been rebuilt- as yet without an idol.

Day One Thousand One Hundred Sixty Five #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

We learned from others in Reuben’s little community that Magwich and his comrades indeed had left to find Mawuli and to rescue him if needed. (They had acted before Elijah’s revelation).

Sy and Reuben rushed out in pursuit but returned before sundown when it was clear the trio was well out of the area.

I called a meeting this morning at Elijah’s request. He poured oil upon the anxious spirits of the people and together with the other leaders promised that their concerns would be addressed, (the chief concern being the secrecy of this location if any of Magwich’s group were captured).

Tomas sought permission to go after them, but Elijah ordered him to accompany Sy back to the redoubt.

Day Nine Hundred Fifty #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

The boot of our oppressor has ever so slightly been lifted off of our necks. It gives us hope that we will soon have more freedom of action. And eases my suspicion that knowledge of our identities had been rediscovered.

Elijah found a place apart and held up there all day. While I kept in contact off and on with the leaders to discuss future plans. But really there was little we felt we could do until we hear from Reuben, the guard who is working on our behalf.

Later we heard the most shocking news from him. The Hamashiachite followers of Raj G in the other dungeons of this prison have all disappeared.

Hence the severe crackdown of yesterday.

Day Nine Hundred Twenty Seven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Our sendoff was a somber affair, attended only by the leaders and those in the vicinity of the entrance to the hiding place. Everything needing to be said had been said last night. Only Elijah spoke and that was to reiterate his instruction from our conference to dispatch Jezer after us upon his return.

We left the remaining drone behind. Elijah says it won’t be necessary. Indeed, he feels it would be a hindrance. (Another decision vouchsafed by the vision given to the Captain).

Upon emerging we saw the predicted sign – two thin clouds, crossways to one another, and the longer one, pointing towards our goal to the north.

Elijah set the pace and I had to step up mine.

Day Eight Hundred Ninety Seven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

It was a quick one day trip, a concession to the people left behind in the hiding place. With Jezer gone down to the desert and Meesa just recently returned, they are ill at ease when their leaders are constantly coming and going.

I believe that Elijah is finally coming to grips with his need to pour himself into their instruction.

Yet how much is needed?

Maturity can be such a mystery.

Thankfully our foray proved a blessing and most necessary, for we located Jezer in the desert with the band he was endeavoring to bring in. The minute Quasimo saw us, he ran to greet us. He was relieved to know that Jezer was indeed telling him the truth.

Day Seven Hundred Nine #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

It took quite some time to clear away the obstructions. An engineering unit was brought up for the heavy lifting to that end. Until they arrived the leaders of this unit set down the best path for the endeavor.

This left us with a lot of free time. Elijah suggested that we all fast. We agreed.

Our non-eating went unnoticed among our army companions until our absence at evening mess.

It created no little stir.

We were each interrogated about what we were not doing. Something about this behavior unsettled them, making them very suspicious. And in a way I believe they somehow intuited the power that lies behind it.

I finally convinced them they had nothing to fear.

Day Seven Hundred Eight #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

It was all over practically before it began, but we have been dealing with the aftermath clear into today.

It had taken us all by surprise. Even Elijah.

Timed explosions on both sides brought the towering canyon walls down upon the army unit behind ours. The perpetrators made a gigantic mistake, however, perhaps too big of a charge – for they also brought down the very rock upon which they were standing.

We discovered this fact when we turned back to investigate. (Only when we felt assured the threat had passed).

Things became clearer as the day went on. Not only had our attackers been taken out, but also every one of the leaders of the conspiracy against the Supreme Commander.

Day Six Hundred Fifty Five #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

The campfires (we could now discern there was more than one) held to their position. At my order we kept a slow pace throughout the night.

Our plan was to arrive in daylight.  It wouldn’t do to have some strangers suddenly appear out of the darkness to stumble upon a more than likely armed host.

And Elijah insisted upon an additional precaution, he went in alone, while we kept out of sight.

After a brief separation Elijah returned to collect us, and to introduce us to our new friends.

They are indeed from that huge army. A whole platoon of deserters. Minus their leaders.

And to Elijah’s delight (and our surprise) new followers of Yeshua Hamashiach.

They trailed Elijah everywhere.

Day Four Hundred Sixteen #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

The wreckage of the satellite which had been spying us was hauled before the council’s pavilion today. Nothing of much use.

While the leaders were convened I again went about my assigned task.  This time I went by myself.

I’ve become quite familiar with the camp in all aspects, except one – the matter of the water supply. At one end of camp there is a well to which all on this side of the promontory congregate. The rest of the camp is serviced by a spring that comes down from the heights. They keep well back from the resultant stream – to avoid contaminating it.

I followed it westward for some distance where it flows out to the plain. Then returned.
