Day One Thousand Two Hundred Eleven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

We have not budged from this location. There is a growing sense among us that some big change is close at hand. Even the far off battlefield fell silent when we first stirred at sunrise. And eerily has remained so all day.

Tomas has been in and out of camp constantly, I do believe, traveling further afield in each instance. I suppose it serves a dual purpose – our protection, and his sanity.

The Captain struck up another conversation with me. This time at last directly addressing the question he skirted around yesterday.

We all know we shall fall before the return of Hamashiach. He was curious if I knew who would perish first, Elijah and me, or him and Tomas.

As things turned out, the earthquake was a mixed blessing. It routed the wild dogs. For good. Tomas saw a good bunch of them gobbled up by a closing fissure. But it also damaged some of the interior rooms of the redoubt.

At this discovery we had the added realization that the reappearance of the wild dogs and our response by exiting the redoubt when we did, had kept us all safe from serious injury.

We were each struck with gratitude. For the power seeking and planning our destruction was brought to naught when it became the instrument of our rescue. Praise be to Hamashiach.

Sy and Reuben directed our efforts today to put things to right in the redoubt.

Sy’s distress was relieved this afternoon by the appearance of Elam down on the road. On foot, no tanker truck.

After our greetings he related to us his harrowing experiences of the last few days. No sooner had he driven into the staging area, when he was forcefully removed and placed in confinement, charged with profiteering.

While there he learned about the clashes far to the east. The forces nearby were forming up the last ditch defense.

Things became so confusing that Elam was able to escape (he credits Hamashiach).

While passing through the furious activity he saw Stan and his motorcade headed east.

From the road last night he witnessed the air assault from the east and its destruction.

Both Elijah and I felt immense relief to see the two groups set out for the hiding place. Our goodbyes were short and sweet. And all look forward to the day when we shall be together in the same place. Praise to Hamashiach.

I was thankful that opposing forces have been drained away from the areas they will traverse. Again praise to Hamashiach.

And so the three of us were left on our own, yet not alone.

Elijah called us to a day of fasting and prayer. Sy led us into a place  that he had set apart within his redoubt for that very purpose.

I knew that Elijah would prefer to be on the heights above.

Perhaps sometime later.

Meesa accompanied us to the tanker truck staging yard. While we waited to see if Elam might come in today, we made our goodbyes. She will return to the hiding place and give an account of our status, and at our request she will ask Reuben to travel up to Jerusalem to look for Tomas.

Perhaps he can give us a clue as to the whereabouts of Jezer.

We commended each other to the tender care of Hamashiach and parted.

The activity in the yard was noticeably less of a turmoil than our last visits. Elijah moved us to a shady spot as the heat of the day increased.

Come mid-afternoon and no Elam, we set out on the road.

Day Seven Hundred Forty Seven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Tomas went about his normal duties today. His self imposed ones as I think about it. Withal not unappreciated.

Our talk yesterday was mutually beneficial. We were both relieved that we were thinking along the same lines. If anything he was more aware of his calling than any of us gave him credit for. He was grateful for my understanding and support.

He was very concerned that Mei not feel rejected. I was able to assure him that Elijah has been hard at work helping her to see and experience that she is welcome, and the Captain has informed me that her eyes are opening to the reality of Hamashiach.

And I wonder what the Spirit’s plan is for Mei.

Day Six Hundred Fifty Five #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

The campfires (we could now discern there was more than one) held to their position. At my order we kept a slow pace throughout the night.

Our plan was to arrive in daylight.  It wouldn’t do to have some strangers suddenly appear out of the darkness to stumble upon a more than likely armed host.

And Elijah insisted upon an additional precaution, he went in alone, while we kept out of sight.

After a brief separation Elijah returned to collect us, and to introduce us to our new friends.

They are indeed from that huge army. A whole platoon of deserters. Minus their leaders.

And to Elijah’s delight (and our surprise) new followers of Yeshua Hamashiach.

They trailed Elijah everywhere.

Day Six Hundred Eighteen #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Three days from today we will set out. We are no longer contending with each other for our future destiny. The Spirit has shown each one that to follow Elijah is to follow Him.

We must prepare. Each one in his own way.

Elijah visited his spot on the causeway.

The Captain traveled beyond the crossroads to reconnoiter the area towards the army camp.

I accompanied the Captain, only parting from him later to better cover the vicinity down by the river to search out crossings.

Tomas remained in the house and conversed with our neighbor.  It was from that source that he learned another name for Hamashiach – Yeshua. Our neighbor carries it from the memory of being left behind.

The darkness barely lifted yesterday, and has returned with a vengeance today. It appears darkest at the point of the compass that marks our heading.

The Captain remarked to me that if he did not have Elijah’s strong word of confirmation, he would have turned aside.

Elijah and I took turns in the special cabin. Time spent here in our estimation is an indispensable preparation for the ordeal ahead. I know for my part I emerged energized and confident.

We divided our remaining time between the crew and P.

P informed us that he has been treated well. (This, under the guard’s watchful eye). I did note a few facial bruises, but said nothing. His devotion to Hamashiach is unwavering.

Day Five Hundred Ten #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

One plus about this jungle – we do pass other travelers, and thankfully none of them are officers of the global government. They are either merchants or peasants traveling to or from the metropolis.

Elijah queries each one upon encounter about Hamashiach. But so far all have hurried on, expressing no curiosity by asking any questions in return.

One merchant even became belligerent, and would have struck Elijah except that he clearly saw that Elijah’s staff was bigger than his.

With a snarl he continued on towards the metropolis.

I am sure he fully intends to report the encounter to the authorities.

But we should be through this jungle and well on our way before anyone can get up a pursuit.
