The Fairy Diary Day 284 #TFDbyRWOz2

Meribabell writes:

The great burrow of the Dromadil pixies of yore is magnificent- even though abandoned for eons. Dunfallon explored everywhere with our two Dromadil guides long past the time he should have been resting.

We shall be leaving behind these guides as we press deeper into the earth. They will report back to their king about its suitability for habitation again.

I find I can admire the workmanship of these structures, but confess the depression that comes with a life in the shadows and at times outright darkness.

We had little to light our way besides my pendants until a surprise gift through Noralei from Merlin  – the cage that lights up because it contains our “old friend” the Will’o’the Wisp.

He shines brighter than I remember in this place and is more sullen.

He has said nary a word.

Day Nine Hundred Eighteen #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Though not exactly conclusive, the news Jezer brought was about an individual from the distant south who had been haunting the old Hamashiachite quarter, seeking Elijah by name.

Elijah was immediately convinced this had to be the one we were looking for. But Jezer and I prevailed upon him to wait until today to go out to find him.

The quarter was very much changed. Many new peoples have been brought in to repopulate it and supply a work force for the rebuilding.

By a roundabout series of connections Jezer landed us in the individual’s own habitation.

But he was then out.

We took a chance and waited for his return.

We were rewarded later when in walked Raj G.

Day Seven Hundred Fifty #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Tomas brought back a lot of intelligence about the habitation in the clearing. We sifted through it, point by point before making our decisions.

The habitation is marked by signs of the presence of the world government. Tomas saw their flag at the entrance on the far side of the compound. So, the Captain’s advice seemed most appropriate.

There is a very good road leading out of this area upon which Tomas had observed tanker trucks. Thus Stan and his people have the same idea as the Supreme Commander’s army.

And so, we will have to steer clear of that access. More’s the pity.

We wait again while Tomas searches another exit.

All of us, including Mei live in hope.
