The Fairy Diary Day 320 #TFDbyRWOz2

Meribabell writes:

The second village was much larger than the first. It was once the home of Gnoston. Which fact went a long way to explain the tear I saw run down his cheek when we were leaving.

Fliget assures us it won’t be long now, so he recommends we take all precautions from here on out.

I’d been talking with Noralei again. We both had sensed the rise of that mysterious feeling gaining in strength. Neither Rumble nor Dunfallon have been affected. We could not talk more in depth about it since Fliget is encouraging us to keep quiet.

So I was left to roll those thoughts over in my mind.

I am beginning to think that these feelings are totally outside ourselves – and are struggling for a foothold in Noralei or myself. Or both.

Day One Thousand Two Hundred Thirty Nine #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Mei writes:

Today was beyond dark. To me. The sunny blue skies open to everyone else were closed behind the shutters of my denial.

I can still hear the sounds of celebration around the city – voices raised in laughter and exultation. Happy throngs weaved about the streets calling to their fellows, congratulating one another for their triumph over their foes.

Then they began to lavish gifts on one another, declaring their independence from any and all restrictions.

I kept well away from them all.

I would almost despair if I did not have faith in the promises. There was a time before when these feelings would have crushed the very life from me.

I tell myself it will all be over soon.

Day One Thousand One Hundred Fifty Two #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

We have arrived at the parting of the ways. The last trio of disciples is off to Jerusalem, resigned at last that Elijah will not be of their number and affirming our individual responsibilities to the Spirit.

The drone activity continues nil. Our watches throughout the day reported no one stirring anywhere. We have the main Damascus – Jerusalem road in sight and this total lack of people and vehicles is striking.

The four of us debated the merits of continuing on in the daylight and without resting. In the end we agreed to continue with our present plan.

In talking with Tomas and Reuben, there is excitement and anticipation about being with their friends again. I share the same feelings.

Day Nine Hundred Sixty Nine #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Elam came to me early. I could tell he was distraught and agitated. So desirous was he to be on his way, he was already dressed and equipped for his journey.

I understood the feelings that were coursing through his mind, and took pains to express them back to him. And I followed that with the reminder of what happens when we let emotions blind us to the leading of the Spirit.

In that very moment I knew that indeed this was the Spirit’s prompting him. And said so, just as Elijah and the others joined us.

Elijah then released them to follow up what we had discussed yesterday. For the timing was right.

Then he told me to prepare.

Day Seven Hundred Fifty Two #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Our two young people talked freely, so freely that the Captain and I excused ourselves and left them to Elijah to chaperone. Feelings were expressed on both sides and each was gratified by those mutual yearnings. But as Tomas emphatically explained it, the times were such that any normal relationship was impossible.

So with the new day Tomas was again looking after every one’s well being. He lead us out by the road from the lake having ascertained its safety. We made good time and at the approach of any intruders, he had us well hidden.

Mei appears non-phased by it all. In fact, I sense a subtle change in her demeanor. She seeks to serve each of us.

Day Four Hundred Forty Eight #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

The Captain has signed off on transporting Emil’s special container. It has been maneuvered out to the dockside.

There it is undergoing its last review. Emil himself is running through the checklist prior to its placement atop the pyramid of containers secured to the deck. After all, last on, first off.

Elijah looks on. Approving and very satisfied with himself.

As part of the deal, we will be returning to this port with two or three containers in an agreed upon trade.

The Captain watches our endeavors from his perch on the bridge high above us. He is too distant to make out his feelings at this moment.

I look forward to the end of this day. And time alone.

Hide and Seek

Hide and Seek

We hide
From each other
From ourselves
From God

We disguise
Our thoughts
Our feelings
Our wounds

He sees
Through our disguises
To where we are hiding
He hears
The cry of our hearts
Of our inmost deep sighing
He knows
Through and through
Inside we are dying

He cares, so…He seeks

He seeks
And will not stop
Having counted the cost
He sweeps
High and low
For the coin that was lost
He braves
The dark, tooth and claw
For the sheep tempest-tossed

He cares, and He desires
That you would care too
And join in the game
And let Him send you.
