Day One Thousand One Hundred Eighty Three #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

We are back. After a long and tiring day. Quasimo expertly guided us around the sections that had been demolished not very long ago.

We ran into the Captain and Jezer who were on their way out on an errand. They reversed direction and accompanied us back to the hiding place.

We learned from them that Tomas and Sy have not yet returned. Otherwise everyone is accounted for (now that we are here).

Both Elijah and myself were dismayed that nothing is known about Tomas and Sy. Neither their whereabouts nor their well-being. They should have been back long ago.

Then I remembered the urgent impression I received last week to pray for them. It gave me great comfort.

Day One Thousand Ninety Nine #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Mawuli walked into a bit of trouble today. He was off on his own exploring and looking into what else had transpired during the attack. Without a guard.

He came across a burial detail, (some of the injured had died) the members of which confronted him for trespassing where he shouldn’t. They became outwardly hostile when they realized who he was, or rather who his associates were.

They hold us directly responsible for the attack. and made it clear that we weren’t wanted.

I believe the situation would have escalated into violence, if Tomas had not interfered.

(Elijah had dispatched him on the errand).

There is a subtle change in the air. Going forward we shall be walking a tightrope.

I’ve gained some perspective since yesterday. I am still focused on finding Tomas and Jezer. The difference comes with the realization that timing is everything. And I am now surrendered to our agreed upon schedule in that matter.

It has freed me up in this sense – l look forward to what comes my way today, that will prepare me and make me the person I need to be.

So I sought what I could do here in our refuge, and conferred with Mei. She was short handed as Meesa was out running an errand with the Purser. So she welcomed my assistance, and my company. She was particularly keen to hear more about our recent adventures.

She misses Tomas too.

Tomas made a couple of jaunts to our rear to head off any surprises from that quarter. Satisfied he changed his focus to the direction ahead.

In between two such forays Elijah collared him, whispered some instructions and sent him on his way.

I guessed that the thrust of their exchange had to do with the smudge that was then open to our view off to the right of our track.

I know I was curious about it.

It was quite some time before Tomas returned from his exploratory errand.

And I was correct Elijah had indeed dispatched him to discover what lay behind that ‘smudge.’

Tomas was excited. He wanted the Captain to return with him for a look.

Day One Hundred Seventy Two #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Lyle sent me on an errand at the rising of the sun. I made a tour of the encampment to invite his leaders to a meeting, while he crossed into the east end to look for Flowers.

I was able to delegate others to  spread the invitation, so by the time of our gathering there was a boost to the turnout. Lyle was a few minutes late and without Flowers. But he did bring with him a dozen people from the east end who want to move out here to the fields. All welcomed the newcomers and pledged their support.

Lyle settled everyone in and began to speak. He announced that the time is at hand and shared our vision.
