Day One Thousand Nine #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Well, we did not depart with the third group yesterday, nor with the fourth or fifth today. Elijah and I agreed to wait for an answer to our disagreement before taking any further action.

We have not discussed it with any of the others, preferring to keep our own council. That being said, we did leave an opening for any of our friends to speak into the situation unprompted by us and hopefully free of any other influence except that of the Spirit.

We saw Malawi off with his group. His mother Mary, bravely held back her tears until they were out of sight.

About that time Mei returned from the ruined city with an urgent request for our presence.

Day Eight Hundred Eighty #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Jezer returned this morning.  He was expansive about our prospects for the future. In fact, he has already taken two groups out of the city to the hiding place. And they are hard at work making it habitable for those to follow.

But he also had a word of caution. Among those he led out were some men whose forced labor involved delivery of materials down in the civic center. There they gleaned that two factions, the world government versus the local, were at odds in regards to the disposition of our people.

The locals are for our expulsion. The world government officials want to round us up into concentration camps.

Jezer believes their disagreement will work in our favor.

Day Four Hundred Forty Seven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

I never thought I’d see disagreement between the Captain and Elijah. They argued upon Elijah’s return from the city last night and they took it up again this morning.

They were still at it when I went ashore. Emil wasn’t in yet, but I felt that was no excuse not to begin. When he did arrive he immediately asked me if a decision had been reached about his special container.

I told him that the main issue was still unresolved. As he suspected it would be.

The Captain is unwilling to go to their sister port for any reason especially with anything that could cause a forfeiture of his vessel.

I’m for the risk but no one is asking me.
