Day One Thousand Two Hundred Thirty Six #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Mei and Mawuli brought us in to the hiding place with a minimum of difficulty. There was no quelling the celebration that greeted our safe return. Only the news about Tomas and the Captain dampened the spirits of some, those that knew and loved them.

At the first opportunity Reuben and Sy sought an audience to relay important intelligence. Both had just returned from Jerusalem. Stan is indeed there, gloating over his ‘complete victory.’ A conclusion he claims since he is the ‘last leader standing.’ And though triumphant the general feeling among his followers is an abiding hatred towards Elijah and his followers.

Because they realized we would soon be going there, they were begging the honor to accompany us.

The wisdom of the directions only became clear after the events unfolded. I received confirmation of the instructions as related by Reuben (and reiterated by Elijah), but they gave me great difficulty, for they required me to break the covenant struck between Elijah and me – to never separate.

But I set my mind to obey and we did.

When Moglen left the high place, I crossed over to it while Elijah and Reuben distracted the drone.

I crushed the idol with any rocks that came to hand and tossed the pieces into the fire.

After giving the drone a chance to record the proceedings, Elijah brought it down with his raised staff.

Swiftly I rejoined my friends and we departed.

Our plans changed again. Just slightly. Instead of leaving today, we sent Jezer with Raj P and his group. And the rest of us will be the last to leave tomorrow.

Jezer was rather insistent that he return right away, citing pressing concerns back at the hiding place.

I wondered if that concern had a name. Or whether his concern was over a situation. Elijah thinks the latter and two someones.

Anyway, Jezer and Raj P were introduced yesterday and have already struck up a good working relationship. They got underway with a minimum of difficulty.

As it turned out the group led by Tomas and the Captain is so big we are very  thankful for the extra preparation time.

Day Five Hundred Sixty Seven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

We had difficulty leaving.  In fact we made it out by the skin of our teeth.

It all began when the Captain paid a call on the port authorities. He wanted to settle a few things.  There was no cargo for us to carry from here. That was understandable. But for those items due elsewhere, the Captain wanted some compensation for the owners. They wouldn’t hear of it.  They are of the opinion that the world government will take care of it. As they believe it will “take care” of us.

This sent a chill through the Captain.

They threw up roadblock after roadblock, but he got us out.

In our wake we saw a robotic warship enter their harbor.
