Day Nine Hundred Eleven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

I wonder if I’ll ever have that talk with Jezer. Mei was at the point of striking out all alone if need be, to look for him and Tomas. But was held up.

For some reason Elijah was opposed to anyone leaving the hiding place except Quasimo and the drone.

We almost had an insurrection on our hands when Meesa joined Mei in favor of her desire to go out.

I don’t know what would have happened if Quasimo had not returned with the news that Tomas was on the way in.

We were relieved to see him face to face, but taken aback at his sad countenance.

Jezer had distracted a police patrol from Tomas and onto himself.

Day Eight Hundred Ten #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

The haze lifted sometime overnight. And we had an unobstructed view in every direction. In the distance to the south lay the harbor that services the megapolis, choked with merchant vessels.

And signs of much activity. Commerce was in full swing, with people going about the business of business in stark contrast to the continued stillness in this central locale.

Palaces were the norm in that quarter, spread out in both directions.

We had no curiosity to head in that direction. Unless, of course, the way out of Babylon lies in that direction. But my desire is for a more direct route to Jerusalem – somewhere to the east and north of here.

We’ll have to see what obstacles there are.

Day Seven Hundred Ninety One #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

P milked all we could recall about his brother G in our recent time with him. He longs to see him again. I assured him that his desire would come to pass.

Elijah added that he was initiating the first step to that coming day. He announced that all who desire to go up to Jerusalem be ready to depart tomorrow. To that end he dispatched Mei and Tomas to circulate among the camps seeking those who will go.

Elijah then turned to the Captain and asked him to do the same in the city by the prairie.

This astonished our old friend and I saw him waver. But to his credit he shook his personal feelings off and acquiesced.

Day Six Hundred Twenty Six #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

We emerged down from our mountain track onto another wide open expanse. Our path has diverged greatly from the lower altitude passage used by the army. We cannot even see from here if they have yet made it through.

There is a good chance that Elijah’s desire to pass up the army will happen.

We continued on at a good pace, with Elijah answering the eager questions of our guides, and instructing them in the ways of the Spirit.

When our path arrived at a fork, we held up for the night, for we have some important decisions to make.

The southern branch intersects with that of the army.  The other leads to a village where our guides have relatives.

Day Six Hundred Eleven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Our neighbor returned in the wee hours. It was in the middle of the Captain’s last watch for the night.

He went out to greet him and learned he had indeed been to the other side of the city. In his travels he hadn’t crossed paths with Tomas. It is probably too much to expect that he would have, still we remain hopeful for our friend.

We invited our neighbor in and he gave us some valuable information. There was no military presence once he got through the city, not even any guards at crossroads.

When I explained our desire to relocate, he immediately offered the assistance of his fellow exile.

Now we just have to wait for Tomas’ return.

Day Five Hundred Sixty Three #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

This island is a lot bigger than we thought. It took nearly twenty four hours to come around to the other side. And we were slowed considerably by the necessity of avoiding debris bobbing on the waters.

We concluded that the tsunami must have hit this side, and this was confirmed by the master of the vessel in the channel, when he came over to warn us.

Our Captain explained to him our desire to lend any help we could. But he was reticent to our entering the port.

At this juncture Elijah declared that the danger of any more tsunamis was past. The ship master was nonplussed at his outburst, but raised no further objection.

The vision proved true.

Day Five Hundred Thirty Four #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Timing is everything. Especially it seems from our limited perspective. Our desire or expectation for something can run ahead of perfection. It can be a hard lesson to learn for anyone, and harder still for one who needs it the most.

So it has proven for G in his problems with the crew members in his charge. Elijah saw right through his complaint. G thought his success in the shipyard would translate without effort into a similar success in his department aboard ship.  Elijah has advised him to seek out his men, make amends and ask to start over.

I already know from conversations with a few of the men that they would indeed be open to such an overture.

I Know

I Know

I know
Thy Word is living
And speaking
“Follow Me.”

I know
That by Thy Truth
I am set free
To be
All You meant me to be

I know
Thy Spirit quickens
And meets my every need
All I need do is ask
And You give
Boldness for any task

I know
That You know me
And I have no higher desire
Than to live my days before
The eyes of Holy Fire

And with those similarly viewed
Laying claim to the same insight
By the hope that purifies imbued,
Cleansed that we may be light.

Day Three Hundred evening #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Enoch writes:

With nine days left, we hoped to catch up with Elijah before the sun set.

We knew his desire is to cover the whole city and that the seaport should be next. So, we wandered in that direction, alert for any sign of him.

He found us instead.

Elam was overjoyed. By nightfall we were breathing salt air.

Day Two Hundred Eighty Nine #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

I stayed behind. I had a strong desire to be alone in the Spirit. Elijah, up the night through was still going strong. He went forth with Elam at first light. He is committed to declaring the warning. There are still many sectors where his voice has not been heard. Though Elam is willing to take him everywhere, he is not sanguine as to their chances of success. For these remaining sectors have been the longest (and most willingly) under the mark.

About midday my focus switched from myself onto Elijah and Elam. Their time of need as it turns out. Elam saw the angelic army surrounding their position as their attackers turned on one another. Twenty days to go.
