The Fairy Diary Day 517 #TFDbyRWOz2

Meribabell writes:

Rayjil took the lead, and we followed after her and her riders. Atop her, Noralei, kept us in close contact at every turning, grouping us so that we traveled in the darkness together. And thus allowing what light our crystals produced and what our armor reflected to bathe us continually.

We were well prepared for the darkness, but not quite so for the cold. I could feel it in my wings – so much so that they throbbed with pain. And the same pain was in my hands.

I have been checking my scroll often since arriving here on the other side. Our hope is that the High Fairy and l will still be able to communicate. So far nothing from him has found its way to the bottom. I scratched out a few thoughts there in hopes he would see them.

I try not to dwell on thoughts of what may lie ahead – of the dangers we may face – or what the adversary may fling against us.

The Fairy Diary Day 20 #TFDbyRWOz2

Meribabell writes:

It has taken almost a full day to read the note from the High Fairy. The single page has grown into a scroll.

I cannot believe it. I was lured out here under a false pretense.

Rumble had no answers to my many questions about this change. I now know he was not the enemy that all supposed. He is quite devoted to the High Fairy, and to the Fairy Kingdom. And as such was only acting the part of a villain for a higher purpose.

I know nothing as to what comes next. The message from the High Fairy only goes on in great detail about the great dangers we are all facing. There is a great evil abroad, threatening all the kingdoms surrounding the Fairy Kingdom. Rumble and I are here to help the pixies prepare to meet this peril.

I feel so inadequate, so unequal to this task.

Day One Thousand Ten #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

We set out immediately to answer Reuben’s call. Mei had caught us up on the problem (she did not return with us, but will guide the Purser and the last group out).

My heart was heavy at the news of a traitor among Reuben’s charges.

Providentially Quasimo had returned, so he accompanied us.  (He will see us and Reuben’s group through the dangers ahead). He kept quiet while Elijah and I discussed the options.

First thing on our arrival, Reuben insisted we hold off till this morning to allow tempers to cool. One man in particular is consumed with vengeance and was stoking the others’ indignation.

Our decision was unanimous. We’ll leave the traitor incarcerated when we move out tomorrow.

Day One Thousand Seven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Mei has brought blessings to everyone, but especially to those suffering in their confidence. It was my honor to introduce her to the Purser and his people.

Her team arrived this morning and immediately set to work organizing our exodus. Each one will take a small group through to the hiding place.

She informed us that the way north is fraught with many dangers – many new security measures have been put in place by the world government.

She has already conferred with Jezer and Tomas to advise them to abandon the tanker truck down here as it would be neither necessary nor practical to take with them.

For the moment I can only imagine what their reaction was to that.

Day Seven Hundred Fifty Four #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Tomas did find another path. We have taken it and left behind the busy road and its dangers. It is pointed due north and looks to keep true to that orientation.

Early on I remarked to Elijah that the terrain we were passing through looked familiar. He replied that there was a good reason for my recognition of our surroundings. And stated that we were on the approaches to the place in the north we had visited by the power of the Spirit many months ago.

The memory of that time flooded me with peace. We had been there less than a span of a day, yet it was unforgettable.

And I’ll never forget Jordan’s astonishment at our sudden return.
