The Fairy Diary Day 224 #TFDbyRWOz2

Meribabell writes:

We saw Dunfallon off on his eagle this morning. Rumble had copied out a map for him for the last known whereabouts of the Dromadil pixies. For as such they are known.

We watched from the highest point of Laguayil until they were out of sight. Then, Noralei and Rumble turned to me and asked what we should be doing next.

I said that though I felt strongly our next destination was the coast to seek passage to the former land of the dark elves, we shall not continue on until the return of our friend. And perhaps more importantly I will not feel free to depart from our new allies until they are settled in their role for dealing with the crisis.

“Patience, for now ” I added, “will be the paramount virtue.”

Meribabell writes:

I had dreams over night of calamities befalling Nonin-gal-dith. Horrible scenes of slaughter and fire and voices crying out in the darkness.

The night for Dunfallon and Rumble was also filled with disturbing visions.

Before we set out again one glance between the pixie and me caused him to speak up. He said he meant what he said back in the dwarf stronghold – no matter how much he wanted to be back with them – he promises to see us through the crisis.

I was relieved. And ashamed that I had ever doubted him. For his heart is as true as Rumble’s and mine.

And yet each of us is being sorely tried with thoughts of home continuing throughout the day. Made all the harder by the silence in the very air around us.

Day One Thousand Eighteen #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Quasimo has come out of his crisis of confidence, partly helped by his skill in getting us to the third and last of the relay points, but I believe mostly due to the penetrating insight supplied by Elijah through their discussion.  Elijah was able to put him at peace, both for the present, and with his past. And most glorious of all, for the future.

Our passage today was for the most part uneventful. Reuben did sight a drone, but there was enough time to get everyone into cover. Quasimo said to expect more such sightings from here on out. Especially in the vicinity of the busy road that runs to Damascus from Jerusalem.

That will be the greatest challenge.
