Day Five Hundred Forty Seven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Elijah had lots to sort out today, all on account of dreams. The dreams of crew members (including the Raj twin G) and the dreams of our guests.

Those experienced by the crew showed them joining the pilgrimage on land. And those of our guests revealed their continuing with the ship. Elijah has met with each one to hear their story. The fact that the number of individuals from each group is the same – six – strongly inclines him to accede to their leading. He wants to be sure.

And as I feared P is upset by all the talk of his brother parting from him. He talks about casting his lot in with him too.

That Elijah refuses to accept.

Timing is everything. Especially it seems from our limited perspective. Our desire or expectation for something can run ahead of perfection. It can be a hard lesson to learn for anyone, and harder still for one who needs it the most.

So it has proven for G in his problems with the crew members in his charge. Elijah saw right through his complaint. G thought his success in the shipyard would translate without effort into a similar success in his department aboard ship.  Elijah has advised him to seek out his men, make amends and ask to start over.

I already know from conversations with a few of the men that they would indeed be open to such an overture.

Day Three Hundred Sixty Three #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

The lone guard sent word to the Captain that he desired to speak with him.

He was quite agitated when the Captain, in the course of his rounds, at long last arrived. He demanded to know what exactly the Captain planned to do to ensure the security of his government’s container. He was aware of our shadow and the reports of various crew members have been feeding his suspicions.

The Captain explained his thoughts on the matter, much to the guard’s dissatisfaction.

I chimed in with the possible explanation that the warship may just have the same destination and only appears to be following us. And that we should not read anything more into it than we have evidence for.
