Day Seven Hundred Seventy #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

I saw him perched atop the fearsome beast winging between us and the moon and stars. Just like in the dream related to us by Mei.

Stan was searching, flying in a pattern to and fro across the sky.

On a sudden I sensed a presence at my elbow. Elijah had joined me.

He told me to pay him no heed for he had blinded him as to our location. And that he was only striking out randomly in his frustration. It seems the easy explanation of what has been happening to the various routes out of this valley.

We apprised the others upon rising. Mei was gratified to have the confirmation.

At Tomas’ recommendation we tried another northern route.

As the night came on, we saw the light from that campfire still in the same place. It occasioned a lively debate.

The Captain, backed by Tomas’ judgement, wanted to find a way around it. To that end Tomas volunteered to run in advance of us to reconnoiter.

Elijah and I, however, held a different opinion. We wanted to continue on and catch up to these people – all based upon the revelations that Elijah has received, and the confirmation that I’ve been convinced to accept.

What I had to say on this matter resonated with our friends, and they at last acquiesced.

At the end of this night’s trek, we estimate the camp to be only one  more night away.

Day Six Hundred Fifty #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

We called a halt in the middle of our trek last night. We had come across what we thought was another caravan camp. But changed that estimation when we discovered abandoned military equipment among the camp refuse. Uniforms mostly. Though there were a few spent cartridges.

Upon pressing on, I wondered if this was the group whose refuse we had noticed at the caravan stop a few days before. And what would happen if we came upon them.

Elijah asked me if I had seen anything familiar. Only then did I tumble to the fact that among the uniforms I had seen were belt buckles with insignias described beforehand to me by Elijah.

Was this the confirmation I’ve been awaiting?

The terrain has changed. Much less vegetation. And the trail has taken a turn to the south, following what I make out to be a river course – dry with not a lick of moisture.

Tomas was fully recovered and ranged far to our front, vigilant to protect us.

The night air was cold. We had to keep moving to keep warm. The Captain feels it most keenly.

I remained by Elijah’s side. (He no longer hangs back to pray, rejoining us at a later time). He has added a wealth of detail to what he told me yesterday, but I still await an independent confirmation.

We halted at the first streaks of dawn and prepared ourselves against the coming heat.

Day Six Hundred Forty Eight #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

We are on our way again. We had set out in the heat of the afternoon. At the insistence of Elijah.

Tomas has recovered. I will not say completely, but I will say he is very willing, and hardly requires any assistance. At those points when he does the Captain is first by his side to help.

I stayed close by Elijah and we conversed. He had many things to share with me, revelations that have come to him in dreams. Many things concerning me. My spirit quivered within me as he spoke. Some things I have known, but for others, and for one in particular, I will need to seek confirmation.

Perhaps during this night’s trek I will hear.

Day Six Hundred Five #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

A sense of urgency, the result of yesterday’s revelations, has been the theme for today. We’ve each had to combat it in our own way. The key is not to rush headlong, but to wait and only move in the Spirit’s leading and in His peace.

I think we have each been concerned for the other and not at all turned inward on the self.

We know our destination, just not the timing.

The Captain would seize the moment and head off immediately, if we let him. But to his credit he will wait for confirmation.

For now we need to go about our day keeping things as normal as possible.

I joined Elijah out on one of the causeways.

Day Five Hundred Seven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Elijah says the time has come for us to move on. So I have been exploring the best options open to us.

Jordan wondered why we just don’t “disappear” like we did before. It made me wonder if he was ready to fulfill his part in the coming events. I was at the point of reprimanding him, when he declared that we needed to contact the trash collectors. He said the idea just popped into his head.

I took it as a confirmation as the idea was one of the options on my list. Both Elijah and I encouraged him (and indeed were encouraged ourselves) about this openness to the Spirit’s leading that Jordan is manifesting.

Now the next step.

Day Four Hundred Ninety Nine #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Some disconcerting news. Along with the conversion of the local temples we have learned that they were despoiled of their precious possessions.

By some accounts, much gold and gems are now on their way to the global capital, with the blessing of the grateful inhabitants.

Elijah says it won’t be long now before things turn drastic. It has given us renewed impetus to soldier on.

To be thorough it may take the next two days, if they don’t eject us first. A couple of encounters today brought threats of setting the authorities on us – a real danger as the offices of the local government are nearby.

Elijah is considering sealing up the sky before our departure. But he’ll await confirmation.

Day Three Hundred Seventy Five #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

In the end, knowing the ultimate goal of the followers of Hamashiach will be the port that is next on our ship’s schedule, has made it easy to decide what to do.

Elijah is returning to the city and the ship to bring news to the Purser about his family. I will remain here with Mary and the children for four days. If the Purser can join us before that time, that would be excellent. Otherwise we will begin a trek overland to the next port and plan to meet everyone there.

Elijah and I passed a few moments together, each committing the other to the love and care of our Master.

We bid God speed and confirmation crowned us.

Day One Hundred Sixty Six #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

This is definitely not the time. Lyle had no confirmation. In fact, he feels it is vital for us to remain at this time.

He went into the west end to follow up on some leads gleaned from his conversations with Grazie.

Grazie and I hiked out to the vineyard early. There, as before she stood guard while I ventured out to explore the ways down to the desert floor. After some searching I found the narrow track again. To say the descent was difficult would be an understatement, let us say, I would not want to be in a hurry.

At last, I reached the bottom. From there the track divided into two paths.

I could sense our future.
