Day One Thousand One Hundred Fifty Three #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

We passed into very familiar territory last night. By tomorrow we should be back in the hiding place.

Some things raised concerns and momentarily threw us off our stride. For instance, once we had to find another route when the normal one through a canyon had a collapsed wall. The debris had blocked off all access.

It had not been that way when Reuben last passed through.

And it was eerie to tiptoe around the abandoned army outposts that before had complicated movements in and out of the hiding place.

Tomas surmised that all army personnel have been collected into the valley of decision for the battle we all know is coming.

Thoughts about that coming event intruded my rest.

What Reuben and Jezer shared about the road between here and the devastated city was helpful and made our decisions easier. The two towns below Reuben’s city lie deserted, their people having fled, fearing they were next for annihilation. They think that we can move by stages and take advantage of their shelter.

Though the Purser voiced some concerns, Reuben had a solution for each, and the rest of us, including Elijah, approved the plan.

So, Tomas was dispatched with the duo and a contingent led by Mawuli which they would leave in the first village to prepare for the first stage.

Reuben with Jezer and Tomas would continue to his hometown and there lend aid to its few survivors.

Jezer was down to the last of his leads today. This he took care to explain before departing. He would like to move to another location as soon as possible to continue the search.

However, Elijah remained certain that the trail to Raj G’s group will originate here in Damascus.

Last night I had given Jezer a list of the last components I needed for the drone under construction. So not having anything to work on to keep me busy, my mind was filled up with other concerns. I felt more than ever that I needed to be out and about. But I stifled that feeling. And was obedient.

As it turns out, Elijah proved correct. Jezer returned with news.
