Day One Thousand Two Hundred Sixteen #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

I am proud of Mawuli. He is exercising supreme control over his compulsion to wade down through these elite troops to get at his chief tormentor.

He has taken to heart Elijah’s advice (and warning) that any vengeance we could imagine to inflict upon Stan for his deeds would fall short by an infinity to the true justice he shall receive under the full weight of the Word.

For now he is content to share the vigil with Tomas and await developments.

He is as keen as I am to witness what is coming.

Later the Captain stirred more excitement when he brought news of more visitors.

I hurried to Elijah. Two of his disciples were there fresh from Babylon.

Day Eight Hundred Sixty One #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Town police rousted us from our sleep this morning. We had chosen a place too close to the town for their liking. Thus we were a little earlier on the road than planned.

It worked to our advantage as we made good progress being the only ones on the road at that hour.

Ahead we could see a series of villages nestled along the road surrounded with fields under cultivation.

I debated with Elijah whether or not to leave the road and go around them. He felt no need or compulsion to do so. I wanted to avoid anything like yesterday that could hold us back again.

We concluded that walking in the fields would bring unwanted attention to ourselves.

The traffic noise from the road was strong all night and intensified this morning. From our remove we scanned the length of the road section in view for the best point of crossing.

We set out for our chosen spot, but were overtaken on the way by Quasimo’s cousin. She had been dispatched to us with a warning.

A drone had circled the encampment at sunup, disappeared southward, then returned and headed westward. Quasimo believes it will return again and then head northward. She relayed his compulsion that we be alerted to that possibility.

We thanked her, only to have our gratitude increased when she suggested we follow the wadi around to the right where it crosses under a  bridge.
