Day Six Hundred Seven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Monotony got the better of the Captain today. Or so he explained it. He just had to take in a change of surroundings. Clear his head.

He decided to head off in the direction taken by the troops yesterday. None had returned so he thought it important to know what they were up to.

He ran into Elijah who was just returning from doing that very thing.

We all thought Elijah was out on the causeways again, but he too had felt the pull to check things out. What he found was an army camp spread out along a river.

Elijah thinks it is meant for a larger force than currently present. It is under construction.

Certainly good to know.

Day Six Hundred Five #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

A sense of urgency, the result of yesterday’s revelations, has been the theme for today. We’ve each had to combat it in our own way. The key is not to rush headlong, but to wait and only move in the Spirit’s leading and in His peace.

I think we have each been concerned for the other and not at all turned inward on the self.

We know our destination, just not the timing.

The Captain would seize the moment and head off immediately, if we let him. But to his credit he will wait for confirmation.

For now we need to go about our day keeping things as normal as possible.

I joined Elijah out on one of the causeways.

Day Six Hundred One #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Elijah communed with the Spirit today. He went out to do so. He wandered about the causeways towards the city side of our dwelling. And out of view of the guards.

We kept an eye on him. And on the guards as well.

They scrutinized each passerby and stopped each and every cart, searching them thoroughly. But most of the time they stood about in the hot sun.

To his credit the Captain wanted to take some water to them. However, neither Tomas nor I thought that prudent for him.

Instead I took some out myself.

They eyed my approach suspiciously, but relaxed when they saw the water.

They said simply they had a sufficient supply, enough until their relief.
