The Fairy Diary Day 127 #TFDbyRWOz2

Meribabell writes:

Until today Rumble’s frustration over the uselessness of the maps he had drawn knew no bounds. Nothing had lined up from any of his sources. But now we have struck what must be the main highway that should lead us to the capital city of the humans – Azhnastria.

All looks untouched by any invading armies.

If the maps are now useful they indicate we are still a long way from the capital – with many posts and forts situated on the approaches.

We may yet see live humans again.

For now, we have the road to ourselves. And we shall hurry on the best we can.

Day One Thousand Two Hundred Twenty Three #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Small pitched battles pock-marked the plain as the opponents sent out feelers to test the other’s mettle. Tomas guesses that the elite troops of the world government were successful at keeping the other two armies in check close to their lines.

Meanwhile the numbers of the army of the East were swelling in their positions on their front lines. It’s easy to see that when they reach a critical mass, they will burst forth and carry all before them.

In all this, Mawuli called my attention to a vehicle circulating about the camp of the world government. He is sure it is Stan’s. When it had accomplished its purpose it set its heading and sped out to the north.

Day One Thousand Two Hundred Twenty Two #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

The conjunction of the two armies was forged in plain view this morning. It gives us an inkling of the reasoning behind their movements. They had to take separate routes to reunite where the juncture gave them the most room.

One can easily see that they outnumber the defending forces of the world government below our position.

We watch in wonder at what the reaction of those elite forces will be – retreat or attack.

I hope they won’t decide to spread up into the high ground. It would increase the likelihood of our discovery.

Elijah is convinced that this development will force the army of the world government back where he wants them.

We all camped at the lookout today.

Sy has re-evaluated our food stocks. Enough has been damaged or spoiled by the earthquake that we soon will be forced to make some decisions.

Half of us will need to be sent back to the hiding place. But no one wants to go. Or more importantly everyone senses the call to be with Elijah and myself.

Thankfully the others will be obedient to whatever Elijah decides. He has drawn apart to seek answers.

Sy and I looked into hitherto untouched chambers on the chance we come up with something salvageable. The Captain followed behind and kept a tally.

Tomas and Reuben again trekked beyond the stone bridge to gauge the activity of the contending armies, with Mawuli tagging along.

Day One Thousand One Hundred Eighty Seven #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Elijah has a bead on an explanation behind all our questions. He took me on a walk. Alone this time – across the entire cavern to the set apart place.

He posits that our movements and certain interactions with others had influenced the actions of the armies in question. In essence we kept the conflicts from escalating because the energies of one or the other was focused on us.

The Spirit has used us to hold the enemies apart until the fullness of time.

But once we were alone in the set apart place, far from listening ears, he disclosed the most harrowing details. The designs against Mawuli, he fears, will not only include his sacrifice but also some unnamable abuse.
