Day Nine Hundred Sixty Eight #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Elam begged to leave today. He calculated that Sy and his people would be in need of a fresh supply of water.

Elijah and I gave our hearty approval, adding at the same time a request that Sy mount a search to the east beyond their stronghold for the missing Purser and his group.

At this juncture, Magwich stepped forward and volunteered to accompany Elam. They had become fast friends during their latest expedition.

To this we assented after referring the matter to Reuben first, who easily agreed. And then in turn he proposed himself to reconnoiter the area in and around Damascus.

Elijah called a halt to the proceedings at that point, saying we needed to wait a day.

Having obtained Jezer’s release, one would have expected us to return immediately to the hiding place.

But Elijah had other ideas. He wanted to continue the search for other followers of Hamashiach immediately. So we headed back into Damascus.

Besides, Elijah pointed out that any other direction would have raised the suspicions of the local police whom he was sure were monitoring our movements. And if our actions matched their expectations they would soon lose interest in us. Or as Jezer suggested we could lose them in the multitudes.

Along the way I had my little talk with Jezer about acquiring the materials with which to construct another drone for Quasimo.

He deferred to Elijah who reluctantly added his approval.

The set apart place was filled throughout the night with intercessors, coming and going. The Captain never left.

And neither did Elijah. But that goes without saying.

I was one of those going in and out. I helped Meesa and Quasimo as they continued to organize the people within the hiding place.

Meesa was supremely confident that Mei and her group will soon be with us.

Later, his responsibilities seen to, Quasimo asked if he could take the drone out for a look-around. I thought it an excellent idea, so I gave my approval, and made a mental note to have that talk with Jezer about another.

He returned within the hour with news that Mei was in sight.

Each one of us has stated his idea as to the best course of action going forward. And each idea has been vetted by the others in a full discussion. Mine has met with the most approval.

It’s based on a simple enough proposition. I pointed to the north and the ample presence of snow and ice on the mountain ranges in that direction and deduced that that offered the best possibility for water along the way..

But that being said we are all agreed to the need for waiting upon the Spirit’s leading and not our own understanding.

Elijah is concerned for what the army will do in this situation. He wants them where they need to be also.

Day Three Hundred Twenty Three #DiaryoftheEndoftheWorld

Elijah assures me that Stan had been totally unaware of our presence. And further, Stan’s perception is so deceived that he fully believes that he commands the fantastic being and hence every situation.

He stated this revelation to me on the bridge of the ship, as we stared back at the island shrinking in the distance. The skies above it have returned to normal. And the Captain watches with approval as the darkness flees from before us.

The Purser reports that the world government official (whom we know as Stan) failed to return before our stated departure. He can only surmise that he has remained with his cargo. This is at odds with their original understanding.

I await more revelations.
