The Fairy Diary Day 64 #TFDbyRWOz2

Meribabell writes:

Dunfallon’s turn today to try out his new skills in front of an audience. The owl invited us up into the tallest tower of the castle. And to our amazement and amusement the pixie trotted out on the back of a golden eagle. The two made a curtsy before turning and hopping up to the window sill.

And from that lofty perch launched themselves into space. After five or six rapid circuits of the tower and a screaming dive down to the castle courtyard, the flying duo presented themselves before us.

Dunfallon is one proud pixie.  But he did dismount and give praise to his powerful companion.

I wondered what was next for his other mount – the doughty mountain goat.  As an answer to my unspoken question, Dunfallon ran to the goat and told him not to worry for he would not forsake him.

I learned from the pixie later that the eagle will only come when he calls him. And he held up a silver whistle on a chain about his neck and winked.
